Educational Potential Meets International Demand
Curato Med GmbH develops international academic partnerships to support hospitals and long-term care facilities in recruiting qualified nursing professionals for the long term.
The approach combines university education, professional preparation, and integration in a structured workforce development model. Nursing students receive targeted preparation for the requirements of the German healthcare system while still in Turkey.
This creates a sustainable approach to recruitment, combining thorough professional preparation, clearly defined timelines, and a smoother transition into everyday work.

Why academic partnerships with Turkey matter
Demand for nursing professionals continues to grow, while fewer qualified professionals are available in the German labor market.
Hospitals and long-term care facilities are particularly affected by this trend. Vacancies are often difficult to fill, while requirements for care quality and reliable service delivery continue to increase.
International academic partnerships can make an important contribution to securing a qualified nursing workforce for the long term.

The role of Curato Med
Curato Med GmbH provides overall leadership for the international academic partnership.
In this role, Curato Med GmbH leads, coordinates, and oversees the academic partnership among universities, clinical partners, public authorities, and policymakers. Curato Med GmbH supports every project phase, from planning and implementation through to the start of employment in Germany.
The academic program model
A structured international qualification pathway
The academic partnerships are built on several interconnected elements.
Review of the curriculum
At the outset, the existing curricula and program structures are jointly reviewed, and the Expert Center for Health Professions (GfG) prepares a model assessment report.
Supplementary qualification modules
Additional modules equip students with the competencies required for qualification recognition and professional practice in Germany.
Practice-based nursing education
Practical components of the degree program and clinical skills training strengthen students’ competencies.
Language preparation
Early, ongoing in-person language instruction helps students develop German proficiency up to B2 level, along with nursing-specific language skills.
Intercultural preparation
Students are prepared for Germany’s workplace culture, organizational structures, and healthcare system, as well as for everyday life in Germany.
End-to-end process management
We handle the recognition of professional qualifications, help candidates find housing and complete the visa process, and organize their arrival in Germany, including transportation to their new homes.
Administrative appointments
After arrival, we personally accompany nursing professionals to all key appointments, including registering their address, opening a bank account, and arranging insurance coverage.
Integration support
Our nursing professionals receive personalized, round-the-clock support. This ensures that they feel well supported in both their day-to-day work and their new surroundings.
Partnership timeline
From partnership to implementation
For a new partnership, the period from the initial exploratory discussions to the first cohort’s arrival in Germany is approximately 3.5 years.
For an established partnership, the timeline for each cohort is approximately 2.5 years, from the start of the program at the beginning of the third academic year to the nursing professionals’ arrival in Germany.
